Celia Hatfield received her 200-hour teacher certification from Yoga Vida in New York City, before moving to Newport in 2015. As a teenager and competitive figure skater, she was initially drawn to the practice for its physical benefits, but it was the yogic philosophy that inspired her toward the path of teaching. Celia has additional certifications in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga from the Prenatal Yoga Center in New York City, and in Yin and Meditation from All That Matters in Wakefield, RI.
Celia emphasizes alignment and functional movement in her classes, and encourages a continual exploration of balance between sthira (steadiness) and sukha (ease). She aims to integrate intelligent sequencing and spirituality with humor and compassion to create a welcoming environment for students of all abilities.
