Vinyasa – Appropriate for all levels of practice. Flow from one posture to the next fully connected to breath and intention. Lots of clear modifications offered for both the absolute beginner and seasoned practitioner.
Heated Vinyasa – Flow in a room heated to about 90 – 95 degrees. Slightly faster-paced than non- heated classes, but appropriate for all levels so long as you can stand the heat!
Heated Vinyasa II – Expect arm balances, some inversions and an artful sequence leading you to an aspirational peak pose or two. Level of instruction is geared to students with an established practice. Heated environment to approximately 90 – 95 degrees.
Slow Flow – We slow the pace down a notch or two to allow full integration of each pose. Followed by guided meditation or deep relaxation, at the discretion of the instructor.
Slow Flow & Meditiation - The visual side of yoga, the poses or asana are great for getting your body in shape. Making the body strong and resilient is a great feat in and of itself, but so much more is possible when you start to get your mind in shape. Meditation is the only way to do that. This class will offer an hour of slow and mindful practice followed by a twenty minute meditation. If you are someone who thinks you cannot meditate, this class is for you. The hour of physical practice will help calm the body and mind and allow you to more completely relax and begin to focus on your higher awareness. Many wisdom teachers tell us that we are our own worst enemies. Through the process of meditation, you can convert your worst enemy into your best friend.
Restorative Yoga - The Antidote to Stress. A deeply relaxing practice of supported poses, guided relaxation, yogic breathing, and an extended savasana (final resting pose). This meditative practice cultivates a necessary balance between body and mind while dissolving physical and mental tension. For any level student seeking to reduce the effects of stress.
Yoga Nidra - We all accumulate stress and tension in our bodies whether we are aware of it or not. "Yogic sleep" works at releasing these tensions on physical, emotional and mental levels of our being through an efficient guided relaxation process. (60 minutes, $10 in studio)
Express – Slightly shorter, one hour vinyasa class. ($10 in studio)
Community - $5.00 drop-in, cash or check only. Proceeds donated to various charitable organizations throughout Newport County. Appropriate for all levels. Heated Community class has room at 90 - 95 degrees.
Pre-Natal - Suitable for women in any stage of pregnancy. Pose modifications and props will assist you through a practice that relieves pressure on the lower back/neck/shoulders, helps you overcome fatigue, build strength and decrease swelling in the body. The class concludes with a guided meditation, leaving you relaxed and re-energized.
Run/Yoga (Seasonal) – Start with an approximate 3-mile run thru scenic Newport at a moderate pace, followed by 45 minutes of yoga to completely loosen all of the muscles and joints you just worked!
